Later that day, at about 2 pm, Toriel decided to get started on dinner. Neither boss monster could enjoy their own company, and after what they were involved with, they thought being with each other would leave them in the wake of an immeasurable amount of shame and awkwardness. He understood why Frisk couldn't be there for a while, but he was still bored and lonely, and would certainly STILL love to have Frisk around to cheer him up by being his temmie-human hybrid self. Of course, that didn't mean he was thrilled to have Frisk go. They loved each other like a family, and he felt sad that he wasn't able to see her for the past three days. Toriel started feeling a little lonely without her daughter to keep her company while at home, and Asriel was missing Chara, too. About a month after Frisk finally graduated from high school, the house was relatively empty without Frisk and Chara to keep Asriel and Toriel company, chiefly due to Frisk and Chara's duties as spokespeople and ambassadors for the monsters. The mane theory might not apply to all individuals of more mixed bloodlines however as King Lee of Bosstale has a beard, and with no record of biological parents it is impossible to say whether or not the growth of his beard is the result of the death of his parents.Mundane wasn't quite enough to describe today. While adolescent male Boss Monsters may grow a small mane before the death of his parents, it only reaches its full length when both parents are dead. Upon the death of both parents, a male Boss Monster will grow a thick mane and females will grow their horns. If the child loses only one parent, the remaining parent will be the sole provider of energy to the child and will age at an accelerated rate in order for the child to age normally.Īs the juvenile Boss Monster approached adulthood, they will sadly lose their parents.
So when a Boss Monster child is orphaned, it is imperative that the child be assigned to a set of foster parents who as they age, will radiate magical energy in the presence of the child and consequently allowing the Boss Monster to mature using this residual magic. However, if the opposite happened and a Boss Monster child were to be orphaned, they would be doomed to remain a child until their inevitable demise. Hence why Toriel and Asgore stopped aging upon the death of Asriel. This is why some Boss Monsters have different pelt colors/patterns, horns, and anatomy such as legs and tails all while retaining the basic resemblance to the Dreemurs.įrom the canon of Undertale, we know that Boss Monsters only age when their children do. The anatomy of a Boss Monster may vary from individual to individual depending on the trace amounts of other monsters' blood running in their veins. The Dreemur family is the only known pure-bred line of Boss Monsters, which is a contributing factor as to why they are held in such high regard as royalty. However, in the canon of Bosstale, there are multiple individuals of Boss Monsters which is why Bosstale is named the way it is. In the canon of Undertale, only three such monsters exists: Toriel, Asgore, and Asriel. As far as we know, Boss Monsters are a subspecies of Monsters with notable characteristics as having the appearance of an anthropomorphic goat and the differentiating trait known as SOUL persistance where the SOUL persists for a short while after the death of the Monster before disappearing as all Monster SOULs do.
